The Neighborhood

Vigla is a small settlement located 250 meters above sea level, directly across from the channel that separates Corfu from Albania. Its name derives from the word “Vigla,” which refers to the area from which one could observe the movement of ships at sea. Vigla is surrounded by trees and looks out over Kalami beach and the beautiful port of Kouloura.

Vigla is mainly composed of apartments and villas with sea views. It’s an ideal spot not only for peaceful vacations but also for hiking and short excursions to picturesque inland villages. The sea is approximately 4 kilometres away, the nearest beach is Kalami with taverns, cafes, and mini markets. In the Kouloura area, there is a small, picturesque harbor, a pebble beach, and a lovely tavern. Approximately 8 kilometres from Vigla.

The area’s commercial and tourist centre is the village of Kassiopi, which is located 7 kilometres away.

Explore Kalami

Having been awarded the Blue Flag, the beach of Kalami is a favourite of locals and travelers alike and is not hard to see why. It is a beach with white pebbles, crystal clear water and incredible views.

This unspoilt beach with the great natural environment also offers various entertainment opportunities, like water sports, while you can soak up the sun, relaxing on sun beds which are available on the beach.

Explore Kouloura & Chouchoulio

Kouloura it is at the narrowest part of the sea channel, where only 500m of water separates Corfu from Lake Vothrotos and its neighbour country, Albania. Many small and big boats are anchored in the small port. These boats carry both local fishermen and tourists. The beach of Houhoulio is right next to the harbour covered in the shade of trees

Chouchoulio is an unique location, just as its name suggests. It is a narrow strip of gravel and stones with a few large trees offering natural shade. Therefore, these trees and the land beneath them do not resemble a beach very much. The sea is quiet and protected from the breezes, with no waves, but the seafloor is rocky and quickly gets deeper.

The historic church of Agios Nikolaos is located in the beautiful port of Kouloura.
